I know, it's been a while...

It's been a couple of busy weeks, I apologize for the lack of any new additions. Ava and I got a chance to sit and draw this evening. I've decided not only to admit to Br. Tom's mentioning of a possible "boot period" for Daddy and Ava, I've decided to embrace it. So, in light of our "boot period" and Picasso's "Blue Period", I give you...

"The Old Banjoist"

An oddly shaped head, strange beard placement, and perfectly placed line by Ava make him appear to be wearing a Sikh style turban. It is not intentional.

I like this one the best, though I don't think I would put it on a t-shirt.

I'm not sure why, but this picture brought back happy memories of my childhood when my mom would play an LP of Burl Ives songs in which my favorite was "Little White Duck". It may be the beard, but I think it's the banjo that sparked it all, which is funny because when I look for pictures of Burl Ives on the net, there are numerous ones of him with guitars, but none with a banjo. Although if my memory serves me right, his snowman character in "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" played a banjo.

I really like the "Boot Period".

And that Burl Ives Record was mine! I got it for my birthday one year - and wish I could find it somewhere - if I do, I will share it with you, Br. Tom.
